TRANSCRIPT ISSUE FOUR: release and launch party
October 1, 2025When we started TRANSCRIPT, our small literary magazine, we decided to make it seasonal, and set ourselves the restraint of only publishing one issue for every season. Since there's only two of us, and we'd curate, edit, design and publish it outside our day jobs, our self-imposed restraint, I think, primarily came from us being realistic about our time.
Our first issue came out in the summer of 2024. The second followed in the winter of that year. The third came out last spring and here we are, in the fall of 2025: our final issue started shipping today.
For the launch of our three previous issues we've hosted an event at Perdu, an Amsterdam-based bookstore and theatre, where one or two of our contributors read their pieces to a small but appreciative audience. For our fourth and final issue, we're doing something a little more special.
On October 10th we're hosting an event together with Molk, a collective of artists based in Amsterdam. With an introduction by ourselves, readings by our contributors (Jan van Tienen and Henrik Kongsvoll-Johansen), an audiovisual intermezzo by Thomas & Jurgen, art on display by Maiami, and a musical performance by Molk—this is our most extravagant event yet. We're excited to go out with a bang!
If you're in Amsterdam and able to attend, feel free to RSVP over on the event's page on Luma. Entry fee is on a sliding scale: pay anywhere between €5 and €10 at the door. And, of course, issue four of TRANSCRIPT will be for sale, too.
I hope to see you there!
If you can't make it, our fourth issue is shipping now, and you can order it on our website.
